HG Private Equity Fund (HGPEF) offers institutional and private investors the opportunity to invest in a broadly diversified private equity portfolio within a simple legal and tax optimized structure. HGPEF investment objective is to achieve long-term capital growth for its shareholders by investing in a diversified pool of private equity investment vehicles which in turn invest in privately held companies, purchasing Fund Investments in the secondary market, and making selective direct investments in privately held companies. In limited cases, the Company may invest in listed companies when such financings have the characteristics of private equity investments.
Investment Strategy
Under normal circumstances, the HGREF invests at least 80% of its net assets in securities in the following categories:
- - primary commitments to private equity vehicles which in turn invest in companies;
- - the purchase of mature Fund Investments in the secondary market ;
- - investments made directly in companies, generally as co-investor with other private equity investors, including so-called "bridge financings" made prior to a planned IPO; such investments may be in equity or take the form of debt financings involving stock options or other equity kickers.
The shareholders of HGREF indirectly participate in a multitude of companies in the dynamic private equity sector. The objective of HGREF is to generate long term capital growth for its shareholders through investment in a broadly diversified private equity portfolio and the reinvestment of portfolio proceeds. HGREF seeks to stay ahead of the curve and offer private equity investments that are likely to capitalize on the growing demand for services in certain sectors of the economy.
